Have you ever felt that you are too late to change or to learn something new? Let me tell you today, “ITS NEVER TOO LATE”

I was talking to an old guy once, to break silence in the office while carrying on with our duties, the conversation made us alive and keep on working. The topic we picked is can an old person be enrolled in learning sessions and learn as any person, the reason he though it might  be is, Old people are facing hardship to learn as they are getting old and their mind as well are too old to learn something new.

The reason might seem a bit convincing when you imagine an old guy of almost 60 to 80`s in class learning. What do you think? What would have been your answer if your were in my shoes?

I told him, learning is a choice despite the age. I understand as we got old, our learning capability decreases due to aging but that should not be an excuse not to learn and stay idle. He finally agreed with me somehow.

Would like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Step out to what you want in Life…

How is life treating you? How are you treating life? Are you living the life you want?

Do you realize that each of us has the power to create the life we want if… we are willing to pay the price? What do I mean, pay the price?

There is a price to pay for everything you want in life. It could be time, money, classes, commitment, practice, sacrifice… the list goes on and on. Only you know what is the price for what you want.

I personally know that the price for success is high and that sometimes it takes a long, long time to happen. And I also know that the rewards are tremendous.

So I ask you, “What would it take for you to be as successful as you want to be?”

A better job? A deeper relationship? More money?

Are you willing to pay the price, no matter what?

If you are, then you are on your way to a successful outcome. Will it always turn out exactly as you planned? No, not always. Sometimes it will turn out even better or worse but that should not be a reason to give up on your dreams. if it’s something you really want. Take the risk and be committed.

I believe you can do it – then take a step in that direction. You know if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. But it’s not. You are the one. You are the one that’s going to do it.

Start today. Start now!

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,

When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,

When funds are low and the debts are high,

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.

When care is pressing you down a bit.

Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns

As every one of us sometimes learns.

And many failure turns about

When he might have won had he stuck it out

Don’t give up though the pace seems slow

You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.

And you never can tell how close you are.

It may be near when it seems so far

So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit

It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

The Definition

Its denial to contradict the sides you live in
not to mention the doors to your own life
Its not about everything but one thing that you are good at
Ability to stand on your shadow and still play the part
The part of your own arguments while believing you are not alone
The rumble of your heart would embrace nothing but the beauty
Not of what has been described but that of your own appreciation
Its easier to lock one door today and open another one tomorrow
but closing both would jeopardize the treasure
Treasure that you alone can not stand against
Undefined truth is always the best light
When you accept the colors of the rainbow
They would say you have to choose
choose between sides, sides that define you
and until you make that clear every one wont be your enemy
it is easier to pretend and live unconsciously happy
Or ignoring the said facts and remain with your own
Whatever the man says defiles him, same goes with thoughts
Engraving the beauty in your heart avails you
Standing in between your sides appraises you
and awarding your efforts glitters you.
Ability to stand through your storms defines you
It is a blessing to blend in with a purpose
Its nothing of value until you know your definition

To My Son

My son, life is hide and seek game

you will have to seek all opportunities hidden from you

and remember giving up wont reveal them

at times they are knocking at your door

It only requires you to have the keys and open for them

Look around

People work hard to earn a living not to buy one

it is different in our ages

when a farm son would do anything to clean the road for a cent

would work in the restaurant for ten shillings

In your age it will be different

but remember a clean cent has discipline to carry the fortune of the world

Dishonesty is nothing but death in your pocket

Saving a life is far more better than destroying one

a lie living in your mouth kills a hundred on reality

never dirty your hands for pleasure rather work for it

Success that is earned from a hard work feels better than a shortcut

Being proud of your wealth would make you feel better than the bought one

I need you to go out there,

go find life, work for your life but never buy one

Buying one would kill many souls to maintain it

rather when earning one, will always make you find ways for another

failing at life is not a weakness rather a courage that you tried

and stopping wont delight your days

I urge you to keep going

search for your inner desire

take the life you deserve to your home not otherwise

live a life my son and never live a lie

Be your own Version of Life.

A society is a large social grouping, sharing the same geographical or territory, typically subject to the same political authority and dominant cultural expectation however within the same society people have different patterns of relationships individually, not to forget even individual goals and expectations to life differ as well.

Different traits will be seen, the hard working group, the lazy group, the gossiping group, the high class and low class, optimistic and pessimistic people and many other who might or might not fall in your category of life. Despite the difference in category(ies), all these people will live close to you (together in the same society)

Now with all that happening, we tend to have behavior of copying what other people are doing and forget what we really are, we also at times forget what are our paths and we step on others` path because we are too scared to walk on ours or raise the levels of dependability.

It is time to learn of your abilities and utilize your potential, In this life, there will be no any other version of you, no matter what you do will always fall back to you.

There are many challenges every one faces in life, failure and being scared to try something new have always been on top to many youth, not being able to trust ourselves to initiate something our hearts desire.

At times we make excuses because we cannot make right decision or being counted for what we have in hands, we tend to step out of line to let others do what we could have done and yet blaming that life is too hard. That has to end today.

It`s time for youth to stand out and change ourselves before we change the society and be the change we want to see in the world, the world suffers and us in it, we are counted useless.

Let`s not count ourselves by the population rather by the changes we can all make in the societies we live in.

Your Dreams + Determination + Choices = your life.

keep going turtles

I have seen so many distracted people who initially had the very positive goals towards changing their lives, i understand that life has been so hard to most of us but i never allowed it to give me a reason to give up.

During my college period, my life had a purpose to complete my degree as we all are and that`s the main reason why we go to college rights? In 2009 i enrolled in a linguistic class here in Tanzania. My class had only 300 hundred students from different regions who were brough together by education, nevertheless each one of them had his/her life to take care of.

Well by then nothing seemed do right, we are human so we basically face a lot of challenges to making us stronger. It reached a moment, i though of quitting the college for sure and at that moment one of classmate had done that already so i decided to stay though life was so hard.

I came a cross an article of Nelson Mandela “Our deepest fear”

Our deepest

I thought twice of what was my biggest fear and i realized that i was afraid of my own life, i was afraid to handle because some of other people had abandoned and i though in some ways maybe the road i have chosen was so perfect. Then i heard a call from my cousin sis and she told, “ God gives us what we can handle”  then i realized that no matter what happens My life will always be my life, i can not be so afraid to pursue what i want and find ways to make it all alive because of other people`s thought.

I started making my own choices and have my life, despite that life was not so pleasing but it was fun, i had to do what i wanted to do at anytime of my choice.

Start where you are - use what you have - Do what you can - Arthur Ashe

I then made my life my best friend, i never thought of giving up and at that moment, i realized how far a mind can go when you determine to achieve something and make use of your life.

The life we live is the only gift given to oneself by God, never let any circumstance destroy your dream, set your goals, pursue them if they all go against every one around you, as long as they are your own dreams make them colorful.

Life is too short, never give up on your dreams.

PHENOMENAL WOMAN

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.

I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size

But when I start to tell them,

They think I’m telling lies.

I say,

It’s in the reach of my arms,

The span of my hips,

The stride of my step,

The curl of my lips.

I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

I walk into a room

Just as cool as you please,

And to a man,

The fellows stand or

Fall down on their knees.

Then they swarm around me,

A hive of honey bees.

I say,

It’s the fire in my eyes,

And the flash of my teeth,

The swing in my waist,

And the joy in my feet.

I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered

What they see in me.

They try so much

But they can’t touch

My inner mystery.

When I try to show them,

They say they still can’t see.

I say,

It’s in the arch of my back,

The sun of my smile,

The ride of my breasts,

The grace of my style.

I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

Now you understand

Just why my head’s not bowed.

I don’t shout or jump about

Or have to talk real loud.

When you see me passing,

It ought to make you proud.

I say,

It’s in the click of my heels,

The bend of my hair,

The palm of my hand,

The need for my care.

’Cause I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

We are always in a hurry but don’t get anywhere

By Sheila Moss : Source : The Citizen

Why are we always in a hurry? We get up in the morning and hurry to get ready for work even if it means falling over the dog and drinking instant breakfast on the road while talking on the cell phone about things that can’t wait until we get to work.

Of course, everyone on the interstate is in a hurry. Why are they in such a hurry to get to work? They must like working a whole lot better than I do. But I have to hurry even if I don’t want to so I don’t get rear-ended, dirty looks, or horns blown at me to get out of the way. Speed is often a contributor to accidents. But we speed, risk traffic tickets, accidents, and injury just because we are in a hurry.

At work, we hurry through the day. No matter how much we have to do there is never enough time. We hurry through our “to do” list to get to the next task, and then hurry through it as well. Work-related stress increases chance of stroke, heart attack, and even death, but we don’t have time to worry about that as we are in a hurry.

Maybe we are in a hurry to get to lunch. We didn’t eat much breakfast because we didn’t have time. Fast food is the most popular kind of eating out because it doesn’t take as long. We hurry through lunch so we can get back to work.

The same people that are in a hurry to get to work in the morning are also in a hurry to get back home at night. And we thought they liked work. But it seems they only like being in a hurry. Traffic is a nightmare with everyone rushing to get home. What do they have to do at home… Probably nothing.

We usually don’t want to take time to cook dinner. If we cook, it is most likely some of the convenience foods that are at least partly prepared in advance.

These are better because we can fix them fast and get the food ready in a hurry. We can no longer imagine life without a microwave to fix food in a hurry.

What if we are in too big a hurry to cook and decide to eat out? If the wait is too long, we look for another place. If the food doesn’t arrive quickly we mumble and complain because it is taking too long. Good service has come to be just as important as good food, and good service means timely service for busy people in a hurry.

Of course, if there are errands to do, we hurry to get them done so we can get back home in a hurry. If we shop, we do it in a hurry and complain about waiting in lines. Some stores have express lines for people who are in a hurry and didn’t buy much. Nowadays, they even have do-it-yourself checkout for the people who are in too much of a hurry to go through the express lines.

We live life in the fast lane, always in a hurry. We use email and send instant messages. We don’t have time to answer the phone so we let the voice mail get it. We have rush hours, express mail, jiffy lubs, instant rebates, overnight delivery, quick shops, and speedy service. Why? Because we are in a hurry! We live in a fast age, information flies, and so do we. In spite of all the time we save, we never seem to have enough.

And that’s why I’m going to quit now. I have deadline to meet and – you guessed it – I’m in a hurry.

An Office Boy

A jobless man applied for the position of ‘office boy’ at a very big company.

The employer interviewed him, then a test: clean the floor.

“You are hired.” – the employer said. ”Give me your email address, and I’ll send you the application to fill, as well as when you will start.”

The man replied, “I don’t have a computer, neither an email.”

“I’m sorry,” said the employer, “if you don’t have an email that means you do not exist. And who doesn’t exist, cannot have the job.”

The man left with no hope. He didn’t know what to do, with only $10 USD in his pocket.

He then decided to go to the supermarket, bought a 10kg tomato crate, then sold the tomatoes door to door. In less than two hours, he succeeded and doubled his capital.

He repeated the operation 3 times and returned home with $60 USD. The man realized that he could survive by this way, and started to go every day earlier, and returned late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled every day. Shortly later, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

Five years later, the man’s company was one of the biggest food retailers. He started to plan his family’s future, and decided to have a life insurance.

He called an insurance broker and chose a protection plan. When the conversation was concluded, the broker asked him his email. The man replied: “I don’t have an email.”

The broker replied curiously, “You don’t have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Do you imagine what you could have done if you had an email?”

The man paused for a while, and replied: “An office boy!”

Important things in Life.

A philosophy professor stood before his class with some items on the table in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, about 2 inches in diameter.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up the remaining open areas of the jar.

He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “Yes.”

“Now,” said the professor, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The rocks are the important things – your family, your partner, your health, your children – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter – like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else, the small stuff.”

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party, or fix the disposal.”

“Take care of the rocks first – the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”
