Caged Feelings

My hands are weak to carry more weight

Just as my heart is heavy to carry useless pain

Broken into pieces, divided my strength

I can neither step forward nor backward

Here i am, enjoying the moment of my failures.

Too much in my head, none of them matters

Too much care in my heart, none of it rewards back

Too much concerns of all around me, none of them bring peace.

Yet, i stand to be corrected rather than by myself.

Life is a gift from God, we wake up everyday with ambitions to accomplish our responsibilities such as work, business, family and all that matters. One thing that we always take for granted is *LIFE*.

We should always take a moment to be thankful for the gift that God has given, not that we are so lucky but his ways are better than our own.

Remember to spend a minute, pray for yourself and others, help someone have a better day, live in a moment and be thankful.

As shapeless as It is,

We believe in number

That has us count our life time,

We categorize it into days, month and years

Yet we stand stationary as immovable materials

Counting blessings bestowed over others

Brings miracles on our shoulders,

Through the sparks of time

Our generations receive the misery

Brought to us by time.

It is not to blame,

Rather to thank, opportunities are given,

In summer we celebrate,

In fall, winter and spring

Life gives us hope.

24 is our number

That defines our life

With paths we have chosen,

We should live accordingly.

As it counts forward,

Future pays for our struggles

The past is history,

Tik tok, tik tok

Time is our fate.

Face your Storms…

We are Born to Live Life.png

I have been too afraid to start something new, afraid to let people in and understand who I really am because I am not complete like any of you. Most times, as human, we tend to show people what they want to see and not the really us because we might make them like us.

When life knocks us down, we still pretend to be fine and move on with life, we smile in our worst times, we laugh when we are broken inside, we cry only when we are alone, because we have been taught that it is weakness to cry in public, afraid to be alone and contemplate our life because we are scared to face the reality. It is okay to be scared, every person has something they are scared of.

We are created and molded according to our needs, our environment, people around shape us are all created to mend life according to our needs and not to destroy it. Your life is an answer to someone else’s problem, live well. Learn to understand not judge, learn to listen not to respond, learn to lead not mislead.

Don’t wait too long to start living, being scared is what makes us human.

Mother;A Cradle to Hold Me

It is true

I was created in you.

It is also true

That you were created for me.

I owned your voice.

It was shaped and tuned to soothe me.

Your arms were molded

Into a cradle to hold me, to rock me.

The scent of your body was the air

Perfumed for me to breathe.

During those early, dearest days

I did not dream that you had

A large life which included me,

For I had a life

Which was only you.

Time passed steadily and drew us apart.

I was unwilling.

I feared if I let you go

You would leave me eternally.

You smiled at my fears, saying

I could not stay in your lap forever

That one day you would have to stand

And where would I be?

You smiled again.

I did not.

Without warning you left me,

But you returned immediately.

You left again and returned,

I admit, quickly,

But relief did not rest with me easily

You left again, but again returned.

You left again, but again returned.

Each time you reentered my world

You brought assurance.

Slowly I gained confidence.

You thought you knew me,

But I did know you,

You thought you were watching me,

But I did hold you securely in my sight,

Recording every moment,

Memorizing your smiles, tracing your frowns.

In your absence

I rehearsed you,

The way you had of singing

On a breeze,

While a sob lay

At the root of your song.

The way you posed your head

So that the light could caress your face

When you put your fingers on my hand

And your hand on my arm,

I was struck with a sense of health,

Of strength and very good fortune.

You were always

The heart of happiness to me,

Bringing nougats of glee,

Sweets of open laughter.

During the years when you knew nothing

And I knew everything, I loved you still.

Condescendingly of course,

From my high perch

Of teenage wisdom.

I grew older and

Was stunned to find

How much knowledge you had gleaned,

And so quickly.

Mother I have learned enough now

To know I have learned nearly nothing;.

On this day

When mothers are being honored,

Let me thank you

That my selfishness, ignorance, and mockery

Did not bring you to

Discard me like a broken doll

Which had lost its favor.

I thank you that

You still find something in me

To cherish, to admire, and to love.

I thank you, Mother.

I love you.

Hug Me

Hug me and I will cuddle you,

In my darkest fear, I need you,

In my happiest moment, I love you

My shoulders are yours,

Not just when you cry,

I will always be here,

Not just when you’re lonely,

My heart is always yours,

Even when I hurt you the most,

In my lap you can sleep,

All night I will sing,

For my happiness is yours,

As for my life I swore,

Forever is his presence,

Together we shall live.

Being Consistent…

Right after my graduation, I started looking for a job; I must say, it was not an easy task because in school, we were not taught on how we are going to embark the Job Market, I was scared just like anybody else. So I started creating my CV which I did not know what to put in or what not to include – it was a struggle.

It was a frustrating era of job hunting without enough knowledge on the subject; you should also know that it was even harder because I had pursued Bachelor of Art with Education ( specialized in Linguistic and Literature) majority know that I was supposed to be an English teacher to a certain Secondary school.

With people’s comments and discouragement about what I pursued and what I wanted to find in the Job Market which was being a Human Resources Specialist were two sides of the coin because I was not looking for a job in a school rather in a company where I could be able to learn and sharpen my mind with the trends.

Despite all sorts of words and push, I never gave up, I continued to look for a job until one day, and I got a temp Job in a printing company where I had to work for almost 15 to 20 hrs. a day to design, print and distribute Standard seven forms to Schools in Tanzania. I took the job and spent 2 months of working not less than 100 hrs. a week. After that, doors opened, I got another Internship where I had a chance to work with a very reputable NGO as a communication officer. After six month of Internship, I got another job where I worked as a Language Trainer. With all the changes and frustration, I never gave up because I was looking for a Human Resources position and after Six months of teaching staff English language, I was promoted to a Human Resources position and that is where my dream started to come true.

I had spent more than a year looking for the job I have always wanted, by doing so consistently without stopping, being discouraged or driven away. I started to learn every day and get all the skills that the job needed me to have and slowly, I started to master and I have enjoyed ever since.

Well, in life, we strive every day for a better life, fancy house, luxurious car, fine clothes, welcoming house and many of the sorts. By seeing and envisioning yourself in such kind of a life, it becomes easy because it’s all just a dream without focus and action, it will always remain a dream.

We all have gone to school and struggled with our grades, being told you are not good enough, being directed towards life you have not intended to have. We spend hours and hours to prepare for exams that do not last for more than three hours, two days later, you have forgotten everything you have read, that’s our education system because through the results, people will determine your future which is not relevant.

For you to be successful, we need consistency towards whatever dream and goals you are having in your life. Learn new things every day, practice what you learn, be kind and focused. Create your goals and work harder towards them without despair.

Stand on your Decision and do not let yourself be misled by either yourself, friends, other people. Stand in line and become the master of your own life. Apply Discipline and Consistency, the rest will fall in line.

My Life in Poetry (Part Four)

Years, months, weeks, days passed

My skin started to shrink

My eyes strength diminished

Life remained a dying diamond

Without its’ beauty

It is just a stone.

I cried night and day

Without a purpose, my tears could shed,

I ended up in the same hole every day

Crying for the same reasons

Lying in the same bed

Seeing same people

Reading the same paragraph

Yet, I expected to become better

I was shocked that I became reluctant

To my own ability to strive the storm

In my needy days

My mind wondered nowhere than in its own boundary

Days of living were countless

I figured that if I am to live differently

I have to be different

Difference between being different and becoming one

Still was a puzzle I had to solve,

My past engulfed my future,

With difference, I wanted to make

I aspired nothing more than misery

Torture and laziness

Were my best friends at a time.

Despite leaving a life of no improvement,

I still had food and clothes every day

Then, I thought, what is it that I am missing

I found out, there is nothing I lose more than my desire of a good life

Good life which I cannot fight for

Better life that I cannot dedicate myself to it

Lazy I became, excuses I gave out

Despite my contemplating days

I am still sitting on my own fence.

Keep your head high

In every day struggle to our well planned and organized life goals, we face discouragement from people we know, love, live with every single day. Mostly from those whom we have put our trust to them.

Do not be despaired by these kinds of people who only discourage people from going after their dreams.

Today is the day, start working on your plans, dreams. Execute everything you have planned well, do not wait until tomorrow…

Start small, become the master of your life.

Its Never too Late…

Source : Internet

Have you ever felt that you are too late to change or to learn something new? Let me tell you today, “ITS NEVER TOO LATE”

I was talking to an old guy once, to break silence in the office while carrying on with our duties, the conversation made us alive and keep on working. The topic we picked is can an old person be enrolled in learning sessions and learn as any person, the reason he though it might  be is, Old people are facing hardship to learn as they are getting old and their mind as well are too old to learn something new.

The reason might seem a bit convincing when you imagine an old guy of almost 60 to 80`s in class learning. What do you think? What would have been your answer if your were in my shoes?

I told him, learning is a choice despite the age. I understand as we got old, our learning capability decreases due to aging but that should not be an excuse not to learn and stay idle. He finally agreed with me somehow.

Would like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Step out to what you want in Life…

How is life treating you? How are you treating life? Are you living the life you want?

Do you realize that each of us has the power to create the life we want if… we are willing to pay the price? What do I mean, pay the price?

There is a price to pay for everything you want in life. It could be time, money, classes, commitment, practice, sacrifice… the list goes on and on. Only you know what is the price for what you want.

I personally know that the price for success is high and that sometimes it takes a long, long time to happen. And I also know that the rewards are tremendous.

So I ask you, “What would it take for you to be as successful as you want to be?”

A better job? A deeper relationship? More money?

Are you willing to pay the price, no matter what?

If you are, then you are on your way to a successful outcome. Will it always turn out exactly as you planned? No, not always. Sometimes it will turn out even better or worse but that should not be a reason to give up on your dreams. if it’s something you really want. Take the risk and be committed.

I believe you can do it – then take a step in that direction. You know if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. But it’s not. You are the one. You are the one that’s going to do it.

Start today. Start now!

Thank You Mama.

As I am aging, your life becomes more vivid

As your grey hair grow everyday

I get more reasons to Say Thank you mama.

Through childhood, I took life for advantage

Never questioned what you had to go through

To take care of the three of us,

Our naughty and blocked ears hurt you

Our arrogance broke your heart

Yet, you kept us safe and your love blossomed

Not until I started depending on my own

I started realizing what you had gone through to make us who we are.

Three of us today are the product of your love

Testimony of your strength

Love of your own Love.

You made us LOVE of your own,

Today, You’re the Love of my Life

You had been yes, but I never realized it.

Today, my family stands out

Your grandson and granddaughter live to see us

In your image, we are proud

I say thank you, you installed walls of wisdom

Knowledge of God and a tender heart in my life

That has rescued our life in many instances

Without even realizing it.

Today I say thank you mama.

For all the Love, strength and Family you gave us.

May your life continue to be our Strength.

May your Life bless us through every moment.

Thank you mama.

New Year 2017

Warm up for the Year ahead like an athlete would warm up for a competition. Start gently with small movements, stretching, and preparing mentally, and then increase the intensity as you go.

You will last longer and get farther that way than if you take off running at full speed.
